Lays up plastic, composite, and fiberglass cloth to establish contours; establish heat time cycles, pressures, time tolerances and cure temperatures. Autoclave operations and programming. Cure profile development.15% - Prepares shapes on special equipment and lathes for plastic assemblies and parts.10% - Determines kind and quantity of resin, catalyst filler, reinforcement, plaster, composite and fiberglass to be used in the casting or laminating of plastic and fiberglass tooling. 5% - Conveys information to lesser skilled classification in the use of new techniques and methods of fabrication.Equipment Used: Autoclaves, ovens, mixers, sanders, grinders, hoists, vacuum pumps, hydraulic presses, routers and other hand tools.Shift could be days, swing or graveyard.Requirements:High school graduate or equivalent or technical school training.Three (3) years experience in composite development work or four (4) years as a Plastic Mechanic.U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person required.
