Work Schedule To be arranged. No overtime may be worked on this federally funded program. Duties Under the general supervision of the Palm Desert Campus Title V Campus Coordinator and the Palm Desert Campus Associate Dean, the incumbent will be responsible for providing advising services primarily to students at College of the Desert. The incumbent will advise students who are interested in transferring to Palm Desert Campus and students admitted and enrolled at Palm Desert Campus who transferred from College of the Desert. As such, some duties may be performed at the College of the Desert campuses in Palm Desert and in the East Valley as well as the Palm Desert Campus. The incumbent will work with the Palm Desert Campus Title V Coordinator to implement the stated objectives of the Title V grant. Specific activities include, but are not limited to, holding individual and group academic advising sessions and assisting in the planning and facilitation of student orientation sessions. The incumbent must coordinate admissions information and procedures with the Admissions Student Recruitment in San Bernardino and academic program requirements with departments and the Palm Desert Campus Associate Dean. The incumbent may teach one or more sections of USTD 100B, Transfer Student Seminar. The incumbent will participate in Palm Desert Campus meetings and will perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Applicants must possess a Masters degree in Education Guidance and Counseling or a related field. Applicants must have a minimum of one year of experience in professional student services work in a college setting, preferably providing counseling services to traditionally underrepresented students. Applicant must be a self-starter and have the ability to work both independently and as a team member. Applicant must possess excellent communication skills as well as the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with employers, staff and students. Applicant must possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information along with the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of people. Applicant must possess a working knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, be able to write clear and concise reports and express ideas and recommendations orally. Applicant must have proficiency in using standard office software such as Microsoft, Word, Excel, Access, email and internet programs. Applicants must provide own transportation to travel to the various campus locations as required mileage will be reimbursed. Equal Opportunity Employer.
