The nurse must have the capacity for making intelligent, independent decisions and initiate the appropriate actions. Able to assess data reflective of the patient''s status and interpret information needed to identify each patient''s requirements relative to his/her age specific need, and to provide appropriate care. The nurse must exhibit the interest and ability to learn techniques ranging from critical care skills to teaching patients how to care for themselves in their home setting without nursing support. The nurse must be willing to cross train and function in all component areas of the Outpatient Center. This professional maintains customer service as the highest priority. Areas in OPSC include Pre-Op, O.R., G.I. Lab, and PACU. All the criteria-based duties and standards within this document will be performed according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines within the department and the Medical Center. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of St. Bernardine Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. Requirements: Prefer 1-year RN experience in GI Lab. California R.N. License.
