Work Schedule  To be determined, not to exceed 19 hours per week. Position may require evening and occasional weekend hours.  Duties  Under general supervision of the Program Director of the Womens Business Center Program, the incumbent will assist with marketing WBC training, counseling and mentoring programs to the local business and civic community, to include, but not limited to the following methods direct mail, networking, public relations and press releases, public speaking, and online. This position will plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive and innovative marketing, public relations, and promotional program aimed at increasing the visibility of the IEWBC. This position will provide support and assistance to the Project Director in the areas of planning, developing, producing, and delivering marketing collateral of program campaigns, brochures, Internet marketing, and promotional flyers. This position will prepare written materials including marketing copy, success stories, general business articles, and presentation materials. This position will attend business related events, have public speaking roles, possibly provide one-on-one counseling, and further develop the list of IEWBC strategic partners. The marketing assistant will also work on development of the bi-weekly e-newsletter, increase the number of contacts who receive the newsletter, and assist with the IEWBCs social media platforms. The incumbent will perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications  Applicants must possess the equivalent of 2 years of general office clerical experience, preferably in a small business or marketing environment. The equivalent of two years of college coursework is preferred a Bachelors Degree is a plus. Applicants must have excellent typing and computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Publisher, Windows environment, Internet, and email. Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal skills, and telephone etiquette as well as have excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to give public presentations. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus. Applicants must have experience working with small businesses and business education and training programs and have knowledge of basic small business principles, including familiarity with accounting, finance, marketing, and human resources. Applicants must have highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, along with excellent customer service skills for working with various groups to include staff, faculty, vendors, and others.  Applicants must possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, along with the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of people, determine priorities, complete assigned projects in a timely manner and work well under tight deadlines.  Applicants must possess the following critical strengths including, but not limited to being innovative, reliable, pay attention to detail, and strong self-initiative.
