JOB SUMMARY:

Will perform diagnoses and psychological assessments of referred patients by administering, scoring and interpreting psychometric and projective tests as well as other psycho-diagnostic techniques and behavior observations. Adhere to all mandated guidelines for patient clinical care and license, maintain license. Assess brain functioning and pathology through the administration of special psychological techniques per mental health benefit contract. Transmit diagnostic and assessment information to referring professionals through verbal and written reports. Offer consultation and in-service training to other mental health professionals on clinical issues relevant to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders to include consultation with physicians on psychological factors in the physical health or illness of individuals. May conduct research of human behavior and possible methods for eliminating psychological disorders. Conduct program evaluation to assess quality of care and cost effectiveness of clinical procedures. Offer research and program design consultation. Conduct initial interview with member by eliciting and interpreting the psychological and social meaning of complaints. Determine urgency of member needs. Provide treatment to adults, adolescents and children. Other related duties. Requires Doctorate degree from an APA accredited University with specialization in a field of clinical or counseling psychology, current license as a Psychologist by the California Board of Behavioral Examiners, familiarity with various assessment tools. Prefer 2 or more years of post graduate experience in a behavioral health setting internship in an APA-approved program, skills required to treat adults, children and families individually and in groups, strong cognitive behavioral skills, basic PC skills-Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Full-time, Monday-Friday. May be required to cover ER after hours and weekends. 4 hours after 5pm per week may be required.
