The general function of a Quality Control Manager is to supervise his/her employees. Ensure that all sampling and testing procedures on tortilla chips and taco shells are being followed correctly. Investigate and resolve customer complaints through root cause analysis and produce corrective actions to assure that the highest quality product is being provided to our customers. Train, coach and evaluate QA personnel, oversee and direct the Food Safety Program and review all QA paperwork for completeness and accuracy in documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Offers supervisory support by directing QA personnel on Non conformance issues and providing disposition of finished product.
Oversees all aspects of Quality Control for specific area and/or time frame.
Coordinates work schedules with staff to assure Quality Control productivity.
Assures that employees are working safely and abide by the company GMPfs.
Performs accident investigation and completes company required forms.
Handles customer complaints, responds by finding root causes and action to eliminate reoccurrences.
Mentors QA techs by example and guidance on proper work habits. Conducts weekly QC department meetings.
Assisst in training and development of employees continually and provides training for all shifts.
Ability to resolve problems as they occur within department
Brings forth new ideas regarding Production Quality and Sanitation.
Promotes company policy and philosophy.
Reviews all QA paperwork, look for deficiencies in the production runs and make trend reports to show were we need improvements.
Implements and documents disciplinary action of the QA workforce.
Assures quality based on company standards.
Reviews time cards for accuracy turns in all employee attendance punctuality reports to Human Resource Dept.
Conducts employee evaluations annually and 30/60/90 day for new hires.
Reviews all required shift reports for QA department and ensure all QA Tech complete their reports accurately.
SCOPE
This position will be responsible for upholding all Safety and Quality standards set forth by the company. This person must be able to multitask and work in adverse conditions. This person must be familiar with Labor Laws and Food Safety and Sanitation Standards related to food safety. Must be able to communicate with department managers, staff and management regarding issues that occur from shift to shift. QC Manager must lead his/her workforce by example. Must conduct Performance Reviews of department staff as required. Ultimately this position is completely responsible for the actions and results that occurr under his/her supervision. May perform additional responsibilities as needed by Plant Manager or General Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 4 years supervisory experience
Above average knowledge of Safety and Labor Laws
Ability to rotate shift based on need of the department
Bi-lingual Spanish/English
Computer proficient
Weekend work when needed
Must be able to generate company documents as well as maintain all existing documents
Quality Control Experience required
Some Knowledge of manufacturing equipment
Must have sanitation and Food Safety experience pertaining to food manufacturing.
