The company currently employs over 200 multi-disciplined scientists, engineers, technicians, sales, and support personnel; and resides in an 80,000 square foot ISO-9001:2000 facility that includes state-of-the art engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, and test areas.Job Summary:Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of electronic and electro- mechanical subassembly and assembly operations of a semi-skilled nature to build up and assemble difficult and complex units such as power supplies, modules, chassis drawers, cable harness, PC boards, electronic systems and subassemblies.This position will begin as a temporary assignment with the potential to become a regular position within 6 months.Job Responsibilities:* Reads and follows reporting documentation / information:* Work Release Information* Engineering Change Order (ECO)* Written instructions regarding duties to be performed* Verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed* Reads and follows assembly building documentation / information:* Production drawings (released, unreleased or obsolete)* Sample assemblies* Informal (hand drawn or unreleased) assembly drawings* Performs the following electro-mechanical assembler tasks and duties:* Soldering and de-soldering of both through-hole and surface mount technology (SMT) components.* Installing and or removing discrete components such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, inductors, etc… on to printed circuit assemblies (PCA’s), panels using both traditional soldering iron and or hot air techniques.* Installing and or removing integrated circuits (IC’s), on to printed circuit assemblies (PCA’s), panels using both tradition soldering and or hot air techniques.* Assembly / disassembly of mechanical assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tooling such as screwdriver, torque wrench, standard wrench, hammer, etc…* Installing, removing, assembly and disassembly using a microscopeRequirements:* Requires a high school education or equivalent and 1 to 2 years closely related experiences or an equivalent combination.* Must be able to demonstrate mechanical assembly & soldering proficiency.* Must be able to read blueprints, Bill of Materials, mechanical drawings, written instructions and understand verbal instructions.* Requires the ability to interpret drawings, and rework to assemblies.* Requires basic computer skills (Outlook, MSExcel, MSWord) needed to perform the required duties, use of soldering irons and basic hand tools.* Requires ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, including ratios and fractions.* Ability to lift a minimum of 45 lbs.* Ability to sit or standing for long periods of time.* Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)Teledyne RD Instruments is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V/AA.
