Program Description
San Diego Center for Change program is a court-supervised, comprehensive treatment program that provides services to non-violent drug offenders referred by probation and parole. This is a voluntary program which includes regular court appearances before the Drug Court Judge. Treatment includes drug testing, individual and group counseling, and regular attendance at self help meetings.
Position Description
Establish and maintains peer mentor program using program graduates to provide support for new client.
Maintains at least monthly contact with each graduate though a variety of social media activities.
Interacts therapeutically with clients. Initiates appropriate and timely interventions and integrates the clinical concept with sound theoretical and practical applications of rehabilitative and individual group and milieu counseling principles.
Develops and maintains a caseload as prescribed by the Program Manager.
Prepares and maintains assessments, service plans, progress notes and other records and documentation and submits for Utilization Review.
Education/Experience Requirements
AOD Certified or registered with a AOD certifying body and in the process of certifying
Two years experience working with alcohol and drug related issues/addictions
