<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Animal Care Technician IIIJob ID:121100Location: USA - CA - San DiegoFull/Part Time:Part-TimeRegular/Temporary:RegularReturn to Previous Page Responsibilities*This is a24hr/week position•UnderstandsandcomplieswithallSOP'spertainingtospecificarea.Provideinputintothe creation/revision of SOPs and assist in implementation and training of new SOPs.•Mayperformveterinarytechnicalsupportdutiessuchas:sentinelcollectionandanimal treatment under the guidance of aVeterinary.•Mayprovideenvironmentalenrichmentfeedandotherenrichmentstimuliand/orprovide behavioralassessments.•Performisolatoranimalhusbandry-whichcanincludefeed,watering,andcleaningcages as required.Monitor animal health and adhere to health monitoring schedules.•Maintain accurate departmental animal housing/isolator or support area record keeping.•Participate in planning/coordination of customer projects for department.•Assist in packing and transfer of animals to customer.•Mayberesponsibleforearmarking,tailsamplecollectionandplacinganimalsper instruction for mating; operation of scanners forregularcensus.•Strictlymaintainingandfollowingcomplexbreedprocedurestoensureappropriate production levels and customer work plan.•Mayactasteamleaderinspecificdepartmentalprojectsandassistinthetrainingofnew personnel as directed by Facility Supervisor.•Assist in providing leadership and motivation to departmental personnel.•Perform general housekeeping and adhere to safety procedures.•Maintainrequiredattendancelevelandadherencetoworkscheduleinaccordancewith required staffing levels in order to ensure thatassigned dutiesarecompleted.•Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications*This is a24hr/week position•Education:Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science or related discipline. •Experience:Two years of related animal facilityexperience.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above•Certification/Licensure:AALAS certification at the Technician (LAT) level orhigher.
