<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>DATA SECURITY ADMINISTRATORJob ID #: 8768Category: Info TechDivision: GAType: Reg Full-timeThe General Atomics (GA) group of companies is a world renowned leader in developing high-technology systems ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to electromagnetic systems; remotely operated surveillance aircraft; airborne sensors; advanced electronic, wireless, and laser technologies; and biofuels.We currently have an exciting opportunity for aData Security Administratorto work within our ITS Security & Classified Computing team at our facility in La Jolla/Torrey Pines.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under general guidance from the Data Security Manager, this position is responsible for developing and administering security controls to prevent unauthorized access, modification, and/or unauthorized disclosure of Company Information.Develops and administers security controls; develops programs and processes to ensure security protocols are not compromised.Conducts vulnerability assessments and provides recommendations for remediation.Conducts analysis of malicious software.Participates in developing and administering security policies.Participates in planning, development, and implementation of security solutions based on new technology.Provides Information Security awareness training to employees, contractors, and other third parties.May be the primary contact with suppliers and vendors while conducting research and evaluation of security products.May function in a leadership role to less experienced professional staff.Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.Performs ther duties as assigned or as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Typically requires a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline and five or more years of progressive professional security administration experience in an Information Technology department.Equivalent professional experience in corporate Information Technology Security may be substituted in lieu of education.Must demonstrate a complete understanding of information security administration principles, concepts, practices, and standards as well as a complete understanding of firewalls, intrusion protection and detection, network devices, TCP/IP and related internet protocols.Must have project leadership skills including organizing, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates. Must be able to contribute to the development of new processes.Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of moderately complex technical problems; (2) strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings; (3) strong interpersonal skills to guide employees; (4) the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; (5) the ability to initiate, plan, and manage projects; (6) the ability to represent the company as a knowledgeable resource on external projects ; and (7) excellent computer skills.Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world
