<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>DATA SECURITY MANAGERJob ID #: 8715Category: Info TechDivision: GAType: Reg Full-timeThe General Atomics (GA) group of companies is a world renowned leader in developing high-technology systems ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to electromagnetic systems; remotely operated surveillance aircraft; airborne sensors; advanced electronic, wireless, and laser technologies; and biofuels.We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Data Security Manager to work within our ITS Security & Classified Computing Department at our facility in La Jolla/Torrey Pines.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under direction of the CIO, this position is responsible for management of the IT security program for GA and affiliates, to include direct oversight of the classified computing program and personnel as well as oversight of the information security operations center (ISOC). Directs the design, testing, maintenance, implementation, and technical performance of classified computing and related corporate data security to include operating systems, networks, and databases. Directs risk assessment activities and provides recommendations for application design. Oversees the use of encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and findings from information technology security research. Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Directs activities for classified computing and related corporate data security projects and staff (to include ISSOs, ISSMs, and Information Systems Security Plans [ISSPs]), including planning and technical performance, to meet objectives.Directs the resolution of highly complex classified computing and related corporate data security issues related to architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.Oversees the implementation of company policies, programs and procedures. Ensures alignment of IT security strategy with business needs as well as Company policies and practices.Develops, publishes, and enforces company information security standards and guidelines encompassing data and intellectual security.Maintains awareness of IT security matters including new and changing laws and regulations, to include, but not limited to NISPOM, DOD 8500 Series, NIST Special Publications (800-53, 800-37, etc.); SNAC Guides, DISA STIGs. Ensures implementation of IT security programs and practices in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.Briefs and provides IT security consultation to business management; promotes and communicates, as necessary, IT security policies/programs/matters.Directs the development of appropriate electronic and hard copy reports and records, including new or revised electronic or hard copy documentation. Makes internal and external presentations.Represents the company as a knowledgeable resource on classified computing and data security. Acts as primary contact for related systems and processes. May represent the Company to external agencies, such as DSS, FBI, NCIS, NAVAIR, etc.Coordinates activities and actions with other IT groups as required.Consults on the development of current, annual, and long-term data security objectives for the company, including Disaster Recovery strategic planning and support.Directs the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of human resources to ensure the availability of required professional and technical talent.Performs other duties as assigned or required.*LI-DS1MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Typically requires a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field and thirteen or more years of progressive information technology experience in a corporate environment with at least seven of those years in management.
