EMC/ESD Specialist - The EMC/ESD Specialist is responsible for providing Electromagnetic Compatibility, EMC/Electrostatic Discharge, ESD, design input early on in the project concept phase and then in the development cycle for portable wireless devices. Individual will work hands-on in the CDMA/WCDMA/LTE projects to ensure all required regulatory approvals are met. In addition, incumbent will work on EMC simulation, EMC and ESD testing and troubleshooting, and EMC and ESD design. Moreover, incumbent will perform 3D EMC simulation from the initial concept mechanical files and provides EMC design feedback to the project concept, and ensures recommended changes are implemented by checking schematics and layout, and handle and schedule EMC/ESD project activities including coordinating EMC/ESD test activities performed by project test group.
REQUIREMENTS - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, and 8 years exp. in EMC/ESD design or RF, baseband or antenna design. Also, 3 years out of the 8 years exp. to involve hardware design in EMC/ESD, RF, antenna or baseband design on portable wireless devices. Finally, 1-year out of 8 years exp. to include a. EMC simulation of portable wireless devices, b. EMC and ESD testing and troubleshooting of portable wireless devices, and c. EMC and ESD design of portable wireless devices.
IN LIEU of Bachelors degree and 8 years of experience, Nokia will accept a Masters degree Electrical Engineering or a related field, and 6 years exp. in EMC/ESD design or RF, baseband or antenna design. Also, 3 years out 6 years to involve hardware design in EMC/ESD, RF, antenna or baseband design on portable wireless devices. Finally, 1-year out of 6 years exp. to include a. EMC simulation of portable wireless devices, b. EMC and ESD testing and troubleshooting of portable wireless devices, and c. EMC and ESD design of portable wireless devices.
