<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>INFORMATIONS SYSTEMS SECURITY OFFICERJob ID #: 8708Category: Info TechDivision: GAType: Reg Full-timeThe General Atomics (GA) group of companies is a world renowned leader in developing high-technology systems ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to electromagnetic systems; remotely operated surveillance aircraft; airborne sensors; advanced electronic, wireless, and laser technologies; and biofuels.We currently have an exciting opportunity for aInformation Systems Security Officerto work with our ITS Operations team at our facility in Poway, CA.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under general guidance from the Data Security Manager, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of systems security/Information Assurance (IA) plans and administration of classified computer systems in accordance with NISPOM, DCID 6/3, NIST 800-53, DIACAP, and company policies and procedures.Establishes and maintains classified computer accounts, and provides briefings related to all new system user accounts.Conducts periodic self-inspections of facility and computer systems to ensure compliance with accreditation/certification documentation package for approved systems andproactively reports results to management. Makes recommendations for and implements improvements as needed.Ensures all systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with internal security policies and practices.Coordinates classified systems activities as related to personal computers, client servers, e-mail, internet resources, and applications.Ensures configuration management is appropriate for all Information Systems (IS) software and hardware, including that change control requirements are documented andfollowed.Conducts user training to ensure systems security and increase user awareness.Ensures security logs and audit trails are reviewed in accordance with established schedules.May assist in writing and enhancing relevant documents, such as Master System Security Plan (MSSP).May provide guidance to less experienced professional staff.Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.Performs other duties as assigned or required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Typically requires a Bachelor''s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline and six or more years of progressive professional systems security administration or related experience in an Information Technology department. Equivalent professional experience in corporate Information Technology Security may be substituted in lieu of education.Must have a working knowledge of DoDI 8500.2 “Information Assurance”. Prior experience serving as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)/Information Assurance Officer (IAO) or equivalent. Experience working with classified computer systems, networks, software and hardware. Experience with a variety of operating systems (Windows and Linux), both desktop and server, and desktop software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Must demonstrate a complete understanding of information systems security administration principles, concepts, practices, and standards as well as a complete understanding of network devices, TCP/IP and related Internet protocols.Must demonstrate leadership skills including organizing, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.Must be able to contribute to the development of new processes; and be a knowledgeable in one or more information technology areas.Must be customer focused and possess the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of moderately complex technical problems.Must possess strong analytical, verbal and written communication
