The EMS Group supports government customers, which include the Department of Defense, Department of Energy and the Department of Transportation.This position supports the engineering staff in the analysis, investigation and resolution of engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity. Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information, and potential problems to be encountered with work reviewed regularly for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Tasks involve the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance. Contacts are primarily internal with infrequent inter-organization or customer contact on routine matters.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Documents findings and implemented solutions and communicates results to engineering staffMay provide direction to design or technician staffSupports the coordination all activities between design engineering, QA, procurement, program office, planning, configuration management, vendor and customerProvides design input and guidanceEnsure s design and procurement documents are in place to support procurement of componentDocuments findings and implement solutions and communicates results to engineering staffMay provide direction to design or technician staffResponsible for day to day management of subcontractors for various componentsIdentifies and mitigates risk associated with programAssists in development and coordination production schedule and provide cost and schedule status to management and program officeConducts technical evaluations to support procurement decisionsSupports and resolves issues and problems at the test site to support test scheduleInterfaces with the customer (Navy) and Shipyard to support delivery and installation of components and hardwareSupports testing of components and hardwareProvides oversight to production material, components, assemblies and subsystems to ensure manufacturing/construction/fabrication schedule is met and within budgetDevelops contract Production Data PackagesDevelops procurement documents and specifications, Statement of Work (SOW) documents and proposals for engineered components and assembliesEnsures contract requirements are followed and passed down to the vendorAdvises management and the program office of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as neededWorks with engineering design and project management to resolve any design related issue impacting production and to improve product designOther duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Typically requires a Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master&rsquo;s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a Bachelor&rsquo;s degreeMay substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of educationMust have an understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory complianceMust possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolvin
