This is a great opportunity to join ourHSP group in San Diego CA!!Summary:* Manages work assignments in staffing, scheduling, coordinating, and planning of personnel engaged in manufacturing engineering activities.* Organizes and coordinates sections of the engineering department (Manufacturing and Industrial).* Plans and establishes engineering schedules and follows up performance against goals and objectives.* Supervises assembly of cost control and statistical data. Supervises development of material selection standards.* Supervisory engineering level positions may report to this manager level.* This position is distinguished by the complexity of work that requires a degree in engineering.* Recommends new policies or procedures as necessary. Approves process specification and design standards.* Prepares and controls departmental annual budget.* Administers personnel functions, including recruiting, review and approval of job descriptions and salary classifications, as well as selection and placement of personnel.Responsibilities:* Lead Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering-related improvement projects throughout the facility.* Assure continuous improvement of process effectiveness (throughputs, yields, and costs) in manufacturing by improving:- methods and processes- equipment and tooling- documentation- training- and product design, by working with site manufacturing leaders and design engineers.* Ensure process capability and capacity to meet current and future demands.* Select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operations.* Develop department standards and procedures and be responsible for manufacturing engineering performance.* Be responsible for identifying, planning, acquiring, and implementing new Manufacturing Technologies to establish and extend competitive advantages.* Develop and track project plans, budgets and schedules for technical improvements.* Prioritize schedules and workload for assigned resources based on current product throughput as well as new product introductions.* Provide annual budgetary estimates including capital equipment and personnel requirements.* Provide technical and manufacturability guidance to design engineers for new product development and for value engineering projects.* Also serve as a manufacturing and industrial engineer, providing the most effective ways to use the basic factors of production-people, machines, materials, information, and energy-to make products.Basic Qualifications:* BS in Engineering (Mechanical or a similar degree).* 3 years engineering experience* 1 year experience with manufacturing engineering for electro-mechanical assembly and integration.* 1 year Project Management experience.* Working knowledge of MS Office and MS Project.Preferred Qualifications:* Knowledge of Six Sigma Tools, e.g. Green Belt, and Lean Enterprise concepts and methods is a plus.* Knowledge of basic manufacturing tool design (injection molding, compression molding, etc.) is preferred.* Experience using CAD programs to include 3D is pr
