Mechanics Architect - Responsibilities include for assigned programs, will assume ownership of a mechanical development strategy from portfolio concepting phase throughout the product life-cycle, which specifically involve working with mechanical design of cellular handsets, material properties, structural and manufacturing, of materials commonly used in high volume cellular handsets, conducting geometric dimensioning and tolerance, GDT, and tolerance analysis for cellular handsets, and conducting root cause analysis using design of experience, DOE, processes.  In addition, will steer mechanical team to implement the documented strategy and lead reliability reviews for every key event from portfolio concepting phase to concept selection, approximately every two weeks.  Will also evaluate reliability reviews per program requirement after concept selection, develop options and solutions to effectively address findings and manufacturing issues, Ensure enough understanding of the concept so that no show stopper issues are found in the first build reliability testing, and review authority for each build file release.
REQUIREMENTS - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and 7 year exp. to include mechanical design of cellular handsets. Also, 5 years out of the 7 years exp. to involve 1. working with material properties, structural and manufacturing, of materials commonly used in high volume cellular handsets, 2. conducting GDT and tolerance analysis for cellular handsets, and 3. conducting root cause analysis using DOE process.
