Medicolegal SpecialistDepartment: Health Information ServicesLocation: Palomar Medical Center, Escondido, CASchedule: Per DiemShift: DayHours: 08Union: CHEReq Num: 13387Job Details: Primary responsibility for handling the release of patient information with the demonstrated understanding of all medicolegal implications and responsibilities related to the release of confidential patient information for: patient access, proper response to civil, criminal, and investigative subpoenas, search warrants, authorizations and other valid requests. Responsible for protecting patient confidentiality and the rights of the organization with respect to HIPAA regulations and state/federal law. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards.
