Provide prevention and early intervention services to children and families at an East San Diego County Elementary School. Facilitate the Incredible Years evidence-based curriculum in elementary school-based settings with children in large classroom groups and small afterschool groups. Teach the Incredible Years evidence-based Parent Education curriculum with adults in school and community-based settings. Organize and lead wellness-based Family Events in school and community-based settings that focus on family health, stress reduction, and other wellness-based prevention activities. Work with diverse groups of elementary school children preschool to 6th grade and their families in a culturally-sensitive and culturally-competent manner. Provide services to children and families in high risk, low socio-economic communities with high percentages of ethnic minorities, including Latinos, Asian and Pacific Islanders, and Chaldean and other Middle Eastern refugees / immigrants. Collaborate with teachers, school staff, Promotoras Family Partners, the Program Manager and other team members to provide high quality services to children families. Assist, guide and motivate families toward safe and healthy functioning as defined by agency and school standards.
Qualifications
Bilingual English/Spanish required. License-eligible MSW, MFT, MHC by the state of California, and a minimum of three years of job-related experience, including direct service experience with at-risk, multiple families and children on a school campus and/or home-based settings. Experience with child, family, and community development. Must possess excellent oral and written skills, and be able to provide services to small and large groups of children and adults. Must work well autonomously with other agencies and program staff in varying disciplines. Must be highly organized with the ability to focus on multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced and busy school-based environment. Creativity and sense of humor a must. Must be willing to develop or possess working knowledge of trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment experience working in trauma-informed and dual diagnosis programs preferred. Must have reliable vehicle and relevant auto insurance, plus a clean driving record mileage reimbursed. Some availability after 500PM and on weekends to meet community needs. Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs. Employment offer will be subject to clearances, which may include fingerprinting, background checks, TB testing, and drug testing.
