<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Principal InvestigatorJob ID #: 78343Location: CA-San DiegoFunctional Area: ClaimsBusiness Line: ChartisEmployment Type: Full Time - PermanentEducation Preferred: Bachelors Degree (or equivalent)Relocation Provided: NoTravel Percentage: 0Position DescriptionAs a Principal Fraud Investigator your responsibilities will include:* Investigating suspicious insurance claims or suspicious insurance related activities covering all lines of business involving claimants, agent, brokers, attorneys, medical providers, etc., to support the Claims Organization for the pursuit of appropriate remedies through the civil or criminal justice system* Gathering facts on issues in question through open-ended interviewing and statement taking of witnesses, employers, claimants and other relevant witnesses* Obtaining and preserving physical and documentary evidence to support investigations* Preparing objective and concise written reports of investigations when necessary* Testifying and presenting evidence at administrative and criminal court proceedings as required* Establishing and maintaining professional working relationships with insured''s, claimants, witnesses, attorneys, corporate employees, criminal justice agencies and the general public* Identify, create, and complete fraud training for various lines of business supported by Chartis* Completing targeted claims reviews for all lines of business within Chartis domestically as assigned. This includes analysis, documentation of results and suggestions for improvementPosition RequirementsStrong analytical decision making, problem solving and communication (oral and written) skill needed* Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize case load with limited supervision* Demonstrated abilities in time management and establishing priorities* Understanding of insurance terms and policy interpretation* Ability to organize data and write investigative reports* Advanced knowledge of criminal and civil justice systems*Ability to alter workflow to create and pursue leads that would support a fraud case* Agility to work in tight timelines when necessary* Advanced working knowledge in investigating specialty lines of insurance a plus* A minimum of 3 years insurance fraud investigative experience or ten years of general investigative related experience essential* Four year degree preferred* PC skill and experience with various database search systemsAbout UsChartis is a world leading property-casualty and general insurance organization serving more than 40 million clients in over 160 countries and jurisdictions.
