Overall Responsibilities
PCG is seeking highly motivated and dependable
Provider Specialist with an interest in public
service who can work in our Chula Vista, CA Stage
1 Child Care Provider Services operation. The
Provider Specialist will serve as information and
communication sources for child care providers,
colleauges, and other agencies. This staff person
will be responsible for working with child care
providers from diverse backgrounds, entering
appropriate information into CalWIN and Kinder
Track, and continuously monitoring provider
eligibility criteria.
Specific Responsibilities
Maintain new child care provider information,
create files and assure all appropriate
information is updated and entered into the case
management data base systems.
Complete new provider intake summaries with
detailed notes from the interview/intake.
Request, compile and file required verifications.
Understand and be able to explain child care
provider requirements, child care options
available to parents, and importance of quality
child care.
Utilize all required PCG and County computer
systems for case management.
Ensure all required forms and documentation have
required signatures, obtain signatures as
necessary, and appropriately file.
Establish and maintain good working relationships
with partners including CalWORKs participants,
County staff, child care providers and Stage 2 and
3 child care payment agencies.
Enter budget information and verify that invoices
received are budget-authorized.
Provide monthly reporting statistics to supervisor
for designated area of responsibility.
Attend and participate in County wide meetings
which may occur after traditional business hours.
Complete job responsibilities at different office
locations.
Required Skills
Proper etiquette including customer relation
techniques, superior verbal and communications
skills.
Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Ability to recognize and maintain the
confidentiality of all materials in the work
setting.
Understanding of modern office methods and
practices efficient with computers.
Demonstrated ability to use various computer
systems, such as MS Office required CalWIN and
KinderTrak, although not required.
Ability to establish and maintain professional
relationships with community partners and
providers.
Ability to partner with and motivate clients from
a diverse range of backgrounds.
Ability to maintain a record keeping and follow-up
system.
Ability to work independently, requiring minimal
supervision and on multiple projects
simultaneously.
Required Experience
High School diploma required Bachelors degree
preferred.
Fluent in English and Arabic.
Preferred Experience
Previous child care case management, child care
resource and referral and/or subsidized child care
payment experience
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
