<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>QA Specialist  (Job Number:317243)Description:Quality Assurance Inspector (QAI)The Defense and Maritime Systems (DMS) currently has an opening for a Quality Assurance Inspector (QAI) supporting the SSC-PAC Network Integration and Engineering Facility (NIEF) 0036 Contract.The QAI will demonstrate accountability for NIEF Functional Area Objectives and Products. In this role, he/she will establish and develop processes for Quality Assurance Roles under the 0036 Contract and integrate those into a matrix organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall NIEF Planning Strategy.Essential Responsibilities:- Responsible for the receiving inspection of components, subassemblies, and finished products.- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and finished components, subassemblies, and products.- Perform tests during in-process inspections to ensure proper functionality of products.- Provide input for inspection methods and improvements related to the job.- Assist quality and engineering in investigations of process related quality issues.- Write Non-Conforming Materials Reports when required and be familiar withthe process of quarantining products that have been rejected by QA.- Provide samples and communication to QA and Production Management concerning quality issues when required.- Use statistical analysis to determine correct sampling plan/frequency to ensure valid inspection plans.- Maintain information systems. Complete accurate records (on paper and electronic data) in order to provide excellent results. Complete accurate records for continuous improvement. These records include inspection reports, training records, equipment maintenance logs, continuous improvement initiatives, and corrective action reports. Understand the function and purpose of these records.- Organize work and storage areas for efficient workflow.- Develop or improve standard work to support both customer and supplier inspections including QA Checklists.Qualifications:Qualifications/Requirements:- High School diploma and minimum of 6 years of experience in a manufacturing facility administering and maintaining Quality Assurance Processes.Desired Characteristics:- 2 years of experience managing a Quality Assurance Department.- Suitable candidate shall be a self starter capable of working independently with minimal guidance and supervision.- Suitable candidate shall maintain excellent time management, planning and organizational skills.- Suitable candidate shall maintain good working relationships within a multi-functional area management system and be a good team player.- Strong communication skills with an ability to interface daily within DoD uniformed military and civilian personnel.SAIC Overview:SAIC is a FORTUNE 500
