Members of the Hardware Engineering department have a wide range of hardware development skills, enjoy growing their skills through challenging assignments, and are passionate about their work.In this role as a RF Hardware Engineer you will support government-sponsored R&D of such systems, including adaptation and extension of commercial systems to novel applications and environments, as well as internal development efforts .Responsibilities Design, develop and test of RF HW systems.Develop in-depth expertise on Qualcomms RF chipsets and systems, with the goal of designing with such chipsets and supporting QGOV developed HW.Sustaining efforts for on-going RF HW designs.Support project teams through customer visits and training.Skills/Experience Candidate must have experience/expertise in some of the following areas: Receiver/transmitter Architecture/HW design and chain spreadsheet analysis, PLL/synthesizer design, GPS receiver design, frequency planning (DC to Microwave), PA design, cellular handset design, and circuit design.Proficient with HW CAD Tools (Mentor and/or Cadence), RF Analysis Tools (MathCAD, Matlab, Agilent) and Excel.Knowledge of basic electromagnetics (fading, antenna theory, and propagation), Fourier analysis, and RF theory (S parameters, matching, noise figure, stability, etc.)Experience in the design and analysis of RF wireless systems, subsystems and circuits, phone or consumer wireless device design as well as high density PWB/PCBs layout, schematic entry, planning and execution of RF design verification test.Experience with design of 3GPP and 3GPP3 compliant HW and systems is a plus.Education Requirements Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering Required.
