Responsible for customer project orders of moderate size and complexity, including initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing of customer projects, using experience in project management. Monitor and control the performance of the customers project through its lifecycle, incl. task completion verification, proj. team monitoring, managing the exchange of proj. updates across proj. team members, sched. reporting, issue resolution, and contract admin. Review competitive situations, communicate w/ price team, and negotiate bid and change order pricing. Identify critical technical issues with product/equipment use and initiate corrective actions, utilizing company quality electronic tracking system --Excellence through Quality--ETQ-- Case Tracking Application--CTA-- and experience with quality and productivity improvements thru a process-driven approach. Provide viable, value engineered options and design solutions to meet customer needs, using the application of electrical distrib. and control products. Utilize knowledge of company products and their use and demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental knowledge, processes and terminology needed for effective project management. Confirm customer requirements, incl. drawings, specs., job site requirements, BOM alignment with specs, and clarify exceptions, using the interp. of electrical one-lines, plans, schedules, and specs. Manage complete job process from order prep., thru mfg. release, product shipment, post shipment support, and financial reconciliation utilizing a base knowledge of Schneider Electric products and their use. Resp. for validating the projects statement of work and contract terms with customer, incl. both technical and commercial elements and, using experience with technical and business document drafting, become lead contact for customer for balance of proj. order. Solve problems with customer interaction that results in positive feedback and improved relationship. Identify issues/risks, analyze underlying causes, and initiate appropriate action plans, using experience with analytical problem solving. Develop proj. sched. and validate with the customer to ensure expectations are being met. Direct engagement with internal manufacturing facilities and third party vendors. Lead the execution of the customers project order, including verifying execution of the project through kick-off meetings, tracking required resources and activity sequencing, communicating to all parties, and exchanging technical requirements and project plan information. 40 hours per week. Requires 5% travel, for training, internal meetings, to visit job sites and contractors. This position requires a Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, or related field and 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, electrical manufacturing, electrical distribution, or project management. Alternatively, in lieu of a Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience, we will accept candidates with no qualifying degree who possess 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, electrical manufacturing, electrical distribution, or project management. This position also requires experience with 1. application of electrical distribution and control products, 2. interpretation of electrical one-lines, plans, schedules, and specifications, 3. project management, 4. analytical problem solving, 5. analyzing financial data, costs, margins, invoicing, terms, reconciliation, 6. technical and business document drafting and, 7. quality and productivity improvements thru a process-driven approach.
