<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Senior Security Systems Specialist  (Job Number:316623)Description:JOB DESCRIPTION: The candidate for the Security Systems Specilaist position will primarily work in a systems and software development environment at SAIC, a leading developer and integrator for secure government systems. The candidate will be on an IA system development team developing leading edge technologies providing cyber secure systems for the US government. General respsibilites will range from typical IT functions of a secure development system environment, including system security updates, software builds and patches, creating scripts, etc. to writing code for secure design, development and testing of secure software.Job Description: Provide operations and maintenance technical support to a DoD Network Security customer. Requires experience with maintaining patch levels of operating systems, network appliances, and security devices. Requires experience with distribution of software and documentation, system and network status monitoring, and problem resolution. Duties may include troubleshooting network and application issues, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software,validating and implementing critical and routine system patches, allocating mass storage space, performing regression testing, and modifying access controls and policies. Interacts with a small number of end customer users and evaluates vendor products. Has experience with disaster recovery.Configure, implement and maintain multiple security services for managed antivirus, WSUS and Linux patch management, intrusion detection and prevention (signature and behavior based), firewall and network access controls. Develop and analyze technical documentation and bulletins detailing security vulnerabilities and recommended system configurations to mitigate threats to network and individual hosts. Analyze and incorporate tools and processes for assessing scope of vulnerabilities.Work with various system types to include Linux, Windows servers and workstations, switches, intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, and security information event management tools. Individuals collect and analyze event information and perform threat or target analysis duties. Interprets, analyzes, reports and develops mitigations for addressing system misuse in accordance with end customer directives, including initiating, responding, and reporting discovered vulnerabilities and threats. Aides inthe development of providing greater situational awareness recommendations for the customer.
