This position is located in La Mesa.
Hours
8-hour shift 800 am - 500 pm, weekends as needed
Qualifications
Baccalaureate Degree in an appropriate health related field required
Masters Degree required
Current CA license appropriate to requirements of position
Clinical experience 3-5 years in healthcare required
Risk reduction/management experience preferred
Experience in leadership that promotes collaborative teamwork required
Previous case review and experience in performance improvement PI preferred
Knowledge and understanding of principles of healthcare risk management required
Knowledge of TJC, DHS, IMQ Regulations and laws and requirements imposed on healthcare organizations required
Knowledge of general principles of quality improvement, infection control, safety, corporate compliance and HIPAA
Operational knowledge in a variety of computer software applications, including relational database, MS Office, Cerner
Ability to perform statistical analysis on a variety of data types from a variety of data sources
Ability to effectively interact, in oral and written forms, with medical and hospital staff, as well as patients, families, visitors, attorneys and the community at large as required
Summary
Plans, reviews, and manages peer review activities for medical staff committees, which includes, but is not limited to
Serves as quality department representative on peer review committees
Manages peer review process on accurate and timely basis including analysis of relevant trends
Refers, processes and clarifies individual case review abstracts for peer review optimizing use of electronic data
Attends appropriate medical staff committee meetings and facilitates accurate, appropriate and timely processing of peer review
Maintains efficient work processes to provide timely peer review results to the organization
Facilitates provision of provider-specific profiles to be utilized for ongoing professional practice evaluation and re-credentialing PARR A and B of healthcare providers
Assessment of key policies and processes related to risk identification, reporting, mitigation and prevention
Conduct proactive risk assessment of high-risk processes with action plan and implementation strategies
Coordinating with the Sentinel Event Review Team the review and identification of sentinel events and near misses
Work with the Director of Quality Improvement Physician Services and other organizational leaders to create and facilitate an education/communication action plan related to pro-active risk reduction.
