We are also a major supplier to international space programs.In 2012, UTC Aerospace Systems was formed by combining two industry leaders, Hamilton Sundstrand and Goodrich, creating an organization with key positions on a wide range of aircraft flying today and substantial content on various UAVs, satellites and ground and naval vehicles.The auxiliary power unit and small turbojet propulsion business of Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems became Pratt & Whitney AeroPower on July 27, 2012. This position of Sr. Associate Contract Specialist would play an important part of this new organization.The selected candidate will be responsible for the contract management and administration of government and commercial programs. The candidate will work closely with the program office, act as a customer liaison to ensure that the requirements of the specific assigned contracts are met successfully and that the interest of HS are protected through compliance and risk mitigation.This individual will work closely with other departments and will be responsible for the overall administration and management of contracts, including all necessary actions associated with the complete contract performance cycle, beginning with proposal support, through contract negotiation and administration, culminating in closeout activities. The candidate will analyze and recommend mitigation actions on terms and conditions, with focus on high risk terms and contracts/legal policies to ensure compliance. Other responsibilities include cost/price negotiations, contract flowdown and guidance to program office personnel, management of receivables, support of export control activities, and process improvements.A 4-year bachelors degree in business or related field is required. JD a plus.4+ years of related contracts experience. Qualifications to include excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong negotiations skills in the areas of contract terms with incorporation of financial analysis and results, knowledge of FAR/DFAR and commercial contracts, with strong customer satisfaction orientation. Strong JD Edwards (One World)knowledge a plus.This position is for the Pratt & Whitney AeroPower Business Unit located in San Diego, California. The business unit was formally part of Hamilton Sundstrand.
