- Requires knowledge of basic mechanical components function and ability to read electrical skematics and PLC ladder.
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings or rough sketches
- Working knowledge of shop math, the addition and subtraction of whole numbers
- Ability to use simple gauges and measuring instruments such as calipers and scales
- A solid understanding of hand and power tools
- Basic computer proficiency
- Proficient command of the English language to the degree of being able to read, write and communicate effectively
- Trade knowledge equivalent to that would be learned in a formal apprenticeship program.
