Invest in you!Job Summary:Responsible for managing the Health/Welfare benefits area. Responsible for complex analysis and research on new/existing Bank wide Health Benefits programs. Provides recommendations and implements special projects.Major Responsibilities:Responsible for managing the Corp Benefits Health/Welfare section. Duties include the following:Manages vendor relationships and negotiating and monitoring performance standards.Research, analyze and develop new Health Benefits programs. Conduct cost/benefit analysis. Evaluate programs to determine if they meet company objectives. Assess weaknesses and strengths and provide recommendations to management. Develop program parameters. Implements regulatory changes and annual plan design changes.Responsible for all aspects of creating and writing Bank wide Health Benefits communications and all supplementary materials. Plan overall content. Creates , designs and writes employee benefits communications distributed Bank wide to employees and/or retirees. Assignments are broad and considered significant to management. Require in-depth knowledge of Benefits plans, operations and strong analytical skills. Ensure information is accurate and contributes to the Bank's positive image of Benefits. Edit, rewrite, and proofread materials. Contact and work with persons of all levels of responsibility to develop/update information and to coordinate production and distribution of Benefits materials. Coordinate revisions to Benefits materials.Responsible for directly supervising systems staff and benefits analysts. Includes interviewing, hiring staff and the termination of staff; recommending salary changes, job promotions; setting work hours, conducting counseling /performance reviews, and planning of the staff's work. Ensures systems supports the Annual Open Enrollment process. Oversees the technical hardware and software issues that may arise. Set-up, improves and documents administrative processes.Act as a liaison and primary contact between the Benefits Department and Auditing.Additional Information:7-10 years demonstrable professional-level experience in employee benefits (with emphasis on health care), including: Requires the ability to understand technical aspects of benefits plans and to convert this to non-technical information.Familiar with regulatory environment: ERISA, 125, SPD's, 5500's, FSA's, COBRA, Medicare, etc.Also must be familiar with health care industry: delivery systems, basic medical terminology, managed care, current market trends, etc.Ability to work independently. Effective communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to interact tactfully with all levels of Bank personnel in all departments. Ability to listen to and to analyze problems/issues encountered.Strong project management, planning, and problem-solving skills. Strong presentation skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing recommendations.
