Today, with its 1,254 licensed acute care beds and 25 residential beds, California Pacific Medical Center is one of the largest private, non-profit academic medical centers in California.PRIMARY PURPOSE:The Women & Children''s Nurse Manager works in partnership with the Director to ensure effective and efficient unit operations that provide for the highest quality care to the patient population served. The Women & Children''s Nurse Manager is responsible for performing key managerial/administrative duties essential to optimal department performance. These include but are not limited to staffing/ scheduling; monitoring of licensure and certification; coordination of new hire orientation, annual competency re-assessment, occurrence report follow-up, quality audits and unit based quality improvement projects. POPULATIONS SERVED:  Neonate/Infant (Up to 2 years)PediatricsAdolescent (12-19 years)       AdultPOSITION REQUIREMENTS Education / Licensure   Licensure as Registered Nurse in State of California required   BSN Preferred  NRP Certification required   BLS CertificationExperience  Clinical experience in Labor & Delivery as well as 3 years management experience in Labor & Delivery.  Highly desirable experience in Pediatrics, Mother Baby and Special Care Nursery.Knowledge and Skills   Basic knowledge of Title 22 and JCAHO   Excellent communication skills and comfort speaking in groups       Thorough clinical knowledge of patient population served.   Working knowledge of PDSA quality improvement model, National Patient Safety Goals and relationship based care concepts.   Computer skills with competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
