DIRECTOR, PUBLIC SAFETY STRATEGY

JOB SUMMARY:

implementing and managing processes and controls
designed to ensure and maintain achievement of
public safety performance commitments and goals.
The director will also be responsible
for establishing and leading a cross-functional
Public Safety Strategy Steering Committee that
will include all lines of business that impact the
safety of our customers and the public.
The Director will partner with all lines of
business, including the Gas,
Electric, Energy Supply and Customer Care
organizations, and provide strategic direction to
officers and business unit leadership in order to
establish continuous improvement to the Companys
Public Safety strategic commitments.  He or she
will also work with the
Safety Department and lines of business to
identify clear links between occupational safety
and public safety, and develop and implement
strategies that will lead to increased safety for
our customers and the general public.  In
addition, the Director will be
expected to conduct focused benchmarking to
identify and implement best practices for PGE
from several industries chemical, petroleum,
utility, etc..
Additionally, this position will coordinate and
oversee the corporate Life Safety Program for
PGE,
partnering with corporate security, corporate real
estate, business continuity and emergency
preparedness business areas.
The Director, Public Safety Strategy will report
directly to the Senior Director,
Safety.QualificationsMinimum
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Safety, Business, Engineering
or related field, or equivalent work experience
10 years experience in the utility or similar
industry
8 years proven leadership experience
Proven experience with the
development of major enterprise-wide programs
and/or strategies
Demonstrated exceptional communication skills,
customer focus, change management, and
relationship building skills
Demonstrated strong business acumen and the
ability to effectively
communicate with and influence executives
Desired Qualifications
Experience with the development, implementation,
or management of public safety programs
Experience working in a union environment
