About the Agency
Located along world famous Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, California, the park has the 12th largest visitation in the system exceeding over 4 million visits annually. The park's location, resources, and exceptional maritime collections interest a broad and diverse group of visitors, maritime advocates, researchers, partner organizations, community groups, elected officials, and city/county and state agencies. In addition to its many constituents, the park has two Cooperation Associations/Friends organizations and partnership agreements with the San Francisco Senior Center, a Sea Scout unit of the Boys Scouts of America, and the Dolphin and South End Swimming and Rowing Clubs. San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park offers the sights, sounds, smells and stories of Pacific Coast maritime history and is surrounded by urban and suburban communities; it is a complex working environment with changing priorities. Tour of Duty: This position is five 8-hour days. Flexible work schedules are available.
