The Medical Center also provides professional education and basic biomedical, clinical and behavioral research. Today, with its 1,254 licensed acute care beds and 25 residential beds, California Pacific Medical Center is one of the largest private, non-profit academic medical centers in California.PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the general supervision of the IHH Program Manager, Clinic Supervisor and/or Self Care Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing massage and bodywork for out-patients of the Institute for Health & Healing. This position functions as part of an interdisciplinary integrative medicine team and participates in staff meetings.Education: * State CMT certification required; national certification preferred* Completion of the IHH Massage and Bodywork Integrative Medicine Education Program strongly preferred Knowledge: * In addition to Swedish massage, also strongly prefer training in three or more of the following areas: Oncology Massage, CranioSacral Therapy, Traditional Thai Massage, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue/Sports Massage, Lymphatic Massage, Ayurvedic massage techniques, Reflexology, Jin Shin Jyutsu and ReikiExperience: * Three to five years experience in a clinical and/or hospital environment strongly preferred* Experience working with a diverse range of conditions and people at a variety of stages of health* Exhibits a desire to work as part of an integrative medicine team* Displays sensitivity to the needs of patients and families in stressful health situations, and composure in an emotionally charged environment* Has genuine commitment to the mission and goals of the Institute for Health & Healing
