The Medical Center also provides professional education and basic biomedical, clinical and behavioral research. Today, with its 1,254 licensed acute care beds and 25 residential beds, California Pacific Medical Center is one of the largest private, non-profit academic medical centers in California. Primary Purpose:The Medical Records File Clerk maintains all patient records and assists with clerical activities regarding patient records, visitors, and medical and nursing staff.* High school diploma or GED is required* Knowledge of alphabetical and numerical filing systems* Knowledge of medical record management regulation required* Strong comprehension of medical group practice* Strong comprehension of the medical center environment* Familiarity with Terminal Digit filing required* Candidate must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision* Minimum 3 years medical office experiences preferred* Must be confident with PC skills, and demonstrate competency therein* Thorough understanding of IDX medical management system highly preferred* Must have ability to work in a variety of positions, moving back and forth from a standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling position or various combinations of such positions, repeatedly throughout an eight hour period* Must be able to reach above head level and bend to ground level to retrieve and file charts with an added ability to carry up to 35 lbs or more
