Is responsible for performing duties in accordance with the philosophy and standards of SMMC under the direction and supervision of the RN. The MHC is responsible for gathering physiologic and behavioral data, providing therapeutic interventions and emotional support for patients. The MHC is responsible for leading behaviorally and process oriented therapy groups. The MHC is also responsible for making psychodynamic observations based on social learning theory. The MHC is part of the treatment team and participates in developing treatment plans. The MHC will assist in running the milieu based on a solid theoretical framework of milieu therapy, including psychodynamic, behavioral and crisis intervention theory. Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, nursing, human development or other related health field.
