The Renal Center provides renal replacement therapies to approximately 130 patients in the outpatient facility. Therapies include hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. The Administrative Nurse III supervises and trains registered nurses and dialysis patient care technicians. She/he coordinates with medical staff, social workers, dieticians and physician assistants to ensure that the standard of care is maintained and provided to all end-stage renal disease patients. Under direction of the Medical Director, Division Administrator and SFGH Nursing, the Administrative Nurse III ensures compliance with hospital policies and all licensing and regulatory agencies; and serves as a role model for professional nursing practice and maintains twenty-four hour line management and responsibility for the administration of personnel, fiscal and material resources; and will perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications Possession of the legal requirements to practice as a Registered Nurse as determined by the California Board of Registered Nursing; a Diploma or Associate degree and three years of clinical experience, two of which have had an administrative component; or a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing and two years of clinical experience, one of which has had an administrative component; or a Master''s degree in Nursing and one year of clinical experience, six months of which have had an administrative component; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position; certified Nephrology nurse; 3 year experience as a charge nurse at hemodialysis setting; CPR-Basic Life Support certified and current; two year experience in acute or chronic dialysis setting; able to cannulate fistula/graft access, stand on foot for 12 hours, hear audio alarms and identify color codes. Physical Demands: requires bending, squatting, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, reaching up to shoulder height; pushing/pulling over 60 pounds; reaching above shoulder level; sitting, standing, walking, waist twisting, kneeling, crawling; carrying/lifting 0-20 pounds; gripping/grasping, fine/gross finger manipulation; repetitive movements of upper extremities; may be exposed to chemical agents; tuberculosis, blood, body fluids or tissue, and radiological materials; latex, dust, fumes or gases; loud noises; differentiate color; use protective equipment.Note: Fingerprinting and background check required.Preferred Qualifications 5 year experience as Hemodialysis nurse; familiar with ANNA and CMS Standards of Care.License/Certification Nursing and CPR certificate.Position Type Full TimePercentage 100%
