<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>The Nurse Practitioner NP, utilizing
standardized procedures and with physician
oversight, will coordinate and manage care for
patients on the Vascular and Plastic services at
San Francisco General Hospital. The NP will ensure
the delivery of comprehensive treatment throughout
the care continuum inpatient and outpatient
through a collaborative and consultative
multidisciplinary team approach. The Vascular/
Plastic Surgery NP will provide patient and family
education and facilitate the appropriate referrals
and out-patient follow up. The incumbent will also
perform other duties as assigned.
Note This is a full time position 1.0FTE that
divided into two half time 0.5FTE positions
Vascular and Plastic Surgery.
Required QualificationsValid California
license as a Registered Nurse and Nurse
Practitioner
Current AHA BLS and ACLS American Heart
Association Certification
Masters Degree in Nursing and national
certification as an Adult, Acute Care, or Family
Nurse Practitioner
Possession of a furnishing  dispensing
number within eight months of hire
Manage vascular and plastic service
patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting
Provide health education to both the
patients and their families
Maintain medical records
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary
team
Physical Demands requires sitting, standing,
walking, squatting, bending, waist twisting,
kneeling, climbing stairs, reaching shoulder
height and below, lifting/pushing/pulling over 60
lbs., carrying up to 60 lbs., fine finger
manipulation, gross manipulation, simple/power
grasp, repetitive hand/arm use, tolerance to
chemicals or toxic substances and latex, ability
to differentiate color, use of protective
equipment.
Note Physical/health screening, fingerprinting
and background check required.
Preferred QualificationsWound care
experience
One year experience as an Acute Care Nurse
Practitioner at a level I or II trauma center
within the last three years
Minimum of two years within the first two
- four years of advance practice nursing
experience in the acute and /or critical care
setting
License/CertificationValid California
license as a Registered Nurse and Nurse
Practitioner
Current AHA BLS and ACLS American Heart
Association Certification
