Zion, SFGH, Ernest Gallo Clinic and Research Center at Emeryville, and Gladstone Institutes,The Principal Technician oversees these daily activities, interacts with the Campus Department Safety Auditors, consults with EH&S Safety Officers (Biological, Chemical, Controlled Substance and Radiation), provides support to the campus radiation, biological, chemical safety and controlled substance programs, provide support to UCSF medical centers as regards management of hazardous materials and wastes.The Principal technician prepares work schedules, program supplies and provides on the job training for other EH&S Technicians. Principal technician has significant oversight of UCSF facilities at Parnassus, Mt. Zion, Gallo, SFGH, Laurel Heights, Mission Center Building, Mission Bay campus, China Basin Landing, Orthopedic Institute and affiliates. Oversight also includes but is not limited to inspection using the facilities appropriate inspection checklist, manpower requirements such as personnel time-offs, rotations, coverage, etc. The Incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications
