The biologist is expected to complete the varied tasks below in a safe and efficient manner.The biologists responsibilities are anticipated to include but not be limited to activities such as:Prepare required biology survey protocols, depending on species and habitat;Perform species habitat assessments (CTS, RLF, vernal pools, serpentine habitats, San Joaquin kit fox, blunt-nosed leopard lizard, burrowing owl)Perform field surveys for raptors, burrowing owls, other threatened and endangered (T&E) species habitat evaluations;Perform rare plant surveys in work area;Characterize creek crossings with potential for work within bed or bank of creeks and categorize work in creeks or other areas of CDFG jurisdiction;Evaluate the need for wetland delineations;Perform pre-construction surveys required under SJVHCP;Perform pre-construction surveys as required for desert tortoise per the Mojave Biological OpinionCommunicate information about sensitive species and habitat to the construction contractor;Provide guidance on mitigating impacts to sensitive areas;Coordinate with other resource specialists for each test segment. These resource specialists include biologists, archeologists, storm water specialists and other disciplines as needed.DutiesQualificationsBachelor
