JOB SUMMARY:

<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>The Senior Bridge Technician position primarily engages in professional design work, exercising independent judgment and specialized skill in the preparation of engineering designs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
<br>
- Develops and expands expertise and skill in approved computer aided design CAD applications.
<br>
- Performs bridge layout and geometry.
<br>
- Develops bridge advance planning studies.
<br>
- Develops bridge General Plans.
<br>
- Applies CAD expertise and skill in the development of detailed bridge construction plans.
<br>
- Independently develops specialized bridge structural details including steel prestressing and bar reinforcing layouts.
<br>
- Produces construction estimates for bridge contract quantities.
<br>
- Monitors production schedules and budgets.
<br>
- Maintains project electronic files and archives.
<br>
- Provides training in CAD techniques and expedients.
<br>
- Prepares visual simulations and architectural renderings.
<br>
- Prepares as-built plans.
<br>
- Other related tasks as required.
<br>

QUALIFICATIONS
<br>
The candidate must have a 2-year A.S. degree from an accredited college and minimum 10 years of Structural CAD experience. Must have skills with MicroStation and AutoCAD in an engineering environment with ability to become proficient in both, specifically associated with the production of bridge structural plans. Familiarity with Caltrans and other DOT CADD standards is a plus. Knowledge of working with macros and electronic delivery is required. Preparation or coordination of visual simulations and architectural renderings is a plus. In addition, knowledge of MS Excel Word, as well as computer skills such as networking, hardware/software installations, configurations, and troubleshooting is desired.
