This position will negotiate and develop Corporate Services contracts. The Senior Procurement Specialist will report to the Supervisor of the Corporate Services Portfolio.50% of time PROCUREMENT AND CONTRACT DEVELOPMENT: Responsible for the procurement of Consulting and Professional Services in support of the Corporate Services Portfolio. Work collaboratively with key line of business partners to develop and write contracts through negotiations and/or competitive bid processes. Work with other subject matter specialists, Law, Internal Audit and Insurance departments as required. Examples of contract related work products include: Master Service Agreements, Long and Short Form Contracts, Change Orders, Contract Work Authorizations, Request for Proposals and related reports, letters and correspondences. Ensure inclusion of effective supplier diversity language in all contracts. Provide support to the Supervisor in governance of contract approval process from contract creation through contract award. Review purchase orders and contracts as part of procurement approval process.20% of time SPEND ANALYSIS, STRATEGY, MARKET ASSESSMENTS AND NEGOTIATIONS: Develop and maintain specific knowledge and expertise, as well as familiarity with general market conditions and trends. Conduct negotiations with contractors to establish contract terms, mitigate risk and reduce overall cost. Develop and implement negotiation strategies to meet cost savings and diversity targets. Negotiates more complex contracts typically under $25million.15% of time CLIENT ENGAGEMENT: Engage in active coordination and communication with clients and partners to understand internal business needs. Identify new opportunities to improve the overall effectiveness and service excellence to clients.15% of time SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT: Develop and sustain mutually beneficial strategic relationships with suppliers. Secure and ensure implementation of contracts. Work with suppliers to implement continuous cost and quality improvements. Seek out and develop Women, Minority, and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (WMDVBEs) to meet or exceed supplier diversity goals.
