Our relationship with this outstanding medical center allows us to extend the practices of primary and secondary care physicians by offering expertise for complex cases, leading-edge technology and the highest standards for patient care.Primary Purpose:Provides specific functions for the care and treatment of patients. The incumbent must possess exceptional public relations/customer service skills, as well as a working knowledge of standard medical assisting. Bilingual preferred.JOB PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: (Principal Accountabilities)<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />I.         Service Standards: Consistentlyexhibits behaviors set forth in the attached Service Standards.II.        Essential Functions:A.  Productivity/Efficiency:       1.   Travel to outreach clinics 50% of time. Central Valley, San Francisco, North Bay and South Bay, Nevada. Must have reliable transportation.2.   Chart prep for the clinic and calls patient with appointment reminder 2-3 days prior to the appointment and obtain lab/imaging reports prior to appt.3.   Ensures that pertinent labs and test results are accessible in charts prior to clinic start time, or as needed by physician, RN or clinical case manager.4.   Prepares clinic and patients for clinic visits.5.   Register and ensure all paper works are filled out and all info is correct in the electronic medical record face sheet demographics.6.   Discharge patients during clinic and completes requisitions, including the scheduling of tests and/or procedures when necessary. 7.   Record vital signs and update info in the electronic medical record.8.   Scan/Fax Patient Care plan, photo ID, copy of insurance cards and all test orders to electronic medical record.9.   Maintains inventory of the clinic and exam room supplies/forms and make sure well stock. And not expired. Orders necessary items in a cost-effective manner.10. Processes and prepares for review and physician signature patient orders, prescriptions and refills.11. Medical assistant provides back up for answering telephones and front office duties.12. Provides back-up support for other appropriate clinic staff as coverage is needed during vacation or sick days.         B.  Technical Skills:1.   Demonstrates competence in clinical practice by adherence to all clinic standards. 2.   Demonstrates competency in the performance of vital signs, injections, pulmonary function tests, base line snellens,and EKGs.3.   Prints and makes required copies of patient schedules at the beginning of each day and distributes to appropriate sites as necessary.4.   Prints lab/test results from electronic medical record5.   Must be able to pass the MA competency test for SPMF Medical Assistants.         C.  Communication (Oral and Written):1.   Communicates effectively and sensitively with patients and their families using AIDET for all patient encounters.2.   Communicates instructions and assists patients when needed. Updates patients on delays.3.   Documents all patient interaction as per patient care and medi
