Develop commodity supply chain profiles based on
data including a comprehensive analysis of market
mechanisms, industry practices, cost analysis and
other criteria utilized in making sourcing
decisions. Management of suppliers within assigned
areas of responsibility including use of lean
sourcing principles, continuous process
improvement and attainment of key performance
indicators KPIs such as on-time delivery,
quality, and cost managing engineering change
order activity and coordinating those changes with
other functional groups. Development and
implementation of the sourcing and supplier
strategies management of contracts and the supply
base for assigned commodities.  Evaluate supplier
capabilities via audits and make sourcing
decisions in accordance with sourcing strategies,
negotiating purchase order terms and contracts.
Work is performed with considerable independence
and is reviewed with the Procurement Manager for
adherence to established standards and results
obtained.  Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education, Experience  Expertise
Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of
education and experience is required for this
position. At least 8 years experience in
purchasing and/or planning in a manufacturing
environment is required. SAP or similar ERP system
expertise required. Experience in implementation
of lean manufacturing or other world class
manufacturing/purchasing practices is also
required.  Experience in outsourcing to low-cost
regions preferred.
