This position will be ideal for someone with Linux Systems/Network administration and Web Apps/Backend development experience on open source web platforms (LAMP stack). The candidate will be responsible for development, management of applications and infrastructure that support the goals of the team, along with supporting other business units within eBay.· Manage existing applications and develop feature enhancements as requested by users· Design and develop new applications/tools as needed by the team· Perform database administration· Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of server infrastructure used by the team· Support other groups with computer forensics analysis· Provide investigative support to other groups within the eBay organization. Tasks may include computer forensics analysis, web log analysis, etc.· Provide assistance with data analysis, parsing/extracting data from large data sets such as web server logs, etc.Job Requirements * Total of 4+ years of hands-on experience in UNIX Systems Administration and Web Application/Backend Development with Perl/PHP* Strong programming skills with PERL, PHP, and Unix shells scripting (Java and C a plus)* Strong web based interface design skills* Strong database administration skills in MySQL (Oracle and MSSQL a plus)* Strong UNIX Systems Administration skills in the UNIX and Windows environments* Good understanding of how the Internet works – network routing fundamentals, internet protocols, address resolution, domain name space and registration* Knowledge of web standards and protocols* Ability to work with large data sets including flat data as well as structured data* Basic understanding of malicious code analysis – worms, viruses and bots* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (technical and non-technical)* Willingness to work demanding and sometimes inconsistent hours* Strong work ethic and positive attitudeEducation Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
