SUMMARYUnder limited supervision works from blueprint, diagrams, parts lists, and verbal instructions to perform a wide variety of mechanical assembly and fabrication operations. Uses a variety of simple hand and power shop tools such as drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers and crimpers.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Works from verbal instructions, models and drawings to assemble and align a variety of mechanical components, assemblies or instruments.
2.Builds a variety of subassemblies such as panels, pulleys, gears, switching mechanisms, control mechanisms, pneumatic and hydraulic units and valves.
3.Connects harnesses, valves and other electronic components to complete assemblies.
4.May assist during pre-calibration alignment tasks.
5.Aligns parts and sub-assemblies and performs a variety of standard subsystem check-outs.
6.Makes visual inspections and established functional checks.
7.Makes recommendations and corrections to work instructions and procedures.
8.Support the Quality System and Quality Policy by following procedures/work instructions and creating records to meet the requirements of the Quality System Regulation and ISO registration.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB. THE JOB DESCRIPTION SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMPLETE LISTING OF ALL MISCELLANEOUS, INCIDENTAL OR OTHER DUTIES WHICH MAY BE ASSIGNED DURING NORMAL OPERATIONS.
TRAINING EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to read, write and perform shop arithmetic and measurements. Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools. 3-5 years related assembly experience. Excellent communication skills. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
