The Product Specialist responsibilities include supporting product launches, providing input for new product development utilizing a stage gate process, supporting promotional activities, developing strategic partnerships, performing hands on laboratory experiments both in the factory and field, and giving technical presentations at customer events. Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:Responsible for the supporting the Triple Stage Quadrupole product line including:* Execute projects to meet product line revenue, growth and profitability. * Execute market growth initiatives including development, implementation and control plans.* Identify, recommend and facilitate partnerships/alliances with other firms as necessary to strengthen the Instrument product portfolios to improve sales and distribution channels success.* Define market needs for new products; member of new product development teams and coordinate with external strategic partners to maintain a competitive product offering.* Execute Voice of the Customer (VOC) efforts to insure that proposed product concepts meet the needs of the customer and provide value differentiation.* Support new product development projects via the stage gate Product Development Portfolio process from the beginning phase of scoping the project through to the end phase of launch of the product. Product development responsibility including membership of project teams, creating review presentations, generation of product specifications, launch planning , PR coordination, MarCom coordination, sales plan development, and hands on execution of critical experimental tasks related to feature testing and demonstration.* Implement plans to manage entire life cycle of all products from launch through obsolescence.* Work with the marketing manager to develop key applications to support strategic and tactical sales initiatives.* Assist marketing programs with the generation and preparation of materials supporting new product introductions, sales presentations, application notes, research articles, laboratory “proof” data, and other marketing collateral.* Perform technical competitive product comparisons, internal portfolio rationalization and overall market analysis.* Interface with Marcom to increase product visibility and lead generation via news releases, application notes and technical articles.* Develop sales tools, i.e., presentations, seminars, application notes, demo CDs, technical documentation and competitive analyses to assist sales force. * Develop sales and customer service training tools and conduct training sessions. * Provide input for literature, advertisements, and other MARCOM components. Participate in trade shows.* Develop and implement all sales training activities to ensure alignment with the Marketing Strategy/Plan.* Travel and meet with customers and sales distributors as required, average 30% travel, some international.* Keep abreast of developments in the Life Science Mass Spectrometry market arena by maintaining communications with experts, regulatory agencies, and organizations and reading published literature.Other Job Requirements:Given technical and marketing presentations globally including at trade shows and customer visits. Visits to customers for VOC and Beta Test programs.
