*Responsibilities
As a key member of HGSTs Real Estate Site Operations RESO engineering team, the Site Mechanical Systems Engineer will provide technical leadership and guidance over its San Jose sites mechanical system infrastructure planning/operations for improved efficiency and reliability.
Provide Mechanical Engineering systems expertise in areas of boilers, steam and steam condensate systems, condenser, chilled/process/RO/DI water systems, pumps, air compressors, humidification systems, domestic water/IW/HM piping, industrial waste treatment systems, associated instrument controls and pipe corrosion/stress assessment for facility infrastructure at all buildings and central utility plant.
Perform mechanical design work, investigate customer requirements, prepare preliminary engineering drawings, cost estimates and specifications for site mechanical systems and business unit tool/equipment installations/removals.
Perform project manager/engineer role on facilities capital projects overseeing all aspects and disciplines of work with full compliance of safety and other codes.
Provide support to site Maintenance/Operations, Business Unit/customer requestors, engineering/architect firms, and management as required.
Maintains knowledge of technology improvements and communicates their existence to the engineering/operations and manufacturing/customer teams and proposes/coordinates implementation or evaluation of such innovations.
This position requires that the candidate has the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and have exceptional coordination, communication and people skills.
Position requires the ability to perform field engineering in all areas of the buildings and plant site includes climbing stairs, ladders, etc..
*Qualifications
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
Fac Mgmt Sys including instrumentation, PE License and/or LEED preferred.
At least ten years experience with manufacturing industrial settings.
Knowledge and experience with AutoCad, MS Office, MS Project is required.
Experience in HDD manufacturing, Project Management and Safety Training a plus.
