The team is fully accountable for the management of buyer-driven losses in the PayPal portfolio.We are looking to add a high-performing professional to our team – likely area of focus will be Fraud Risk policy.The individualwill be focusing on the following areas:* Strategy for controlling Fraud Risk in one of our major Risk categories (e.g., Stolen Financials, Account Takeover, Bank Payments)* Risk assessments used to identify risky users/transactions and treatments deployed to mitigate potential exposure* Loss performance in the loss category of focus; tradeoffs between loss minimization, enablement of business growth, and user experienceThe individual’sday-to-day responsibilitieswill include* Identifying (via research, analysis, brainstorming) vulnerabilities / gaps / opportunities within the current portfolio of PayPal’s Consumer Risk controls* Building a business case for the opportunity – sizing the benefit or the magnitude of the potential loss exposure* Based on the analysis, formulating a policy to ensure the optimal balance between user experience, business enablement, and loss exposure related to the planned innovations / improvements* Partnering with other groups within and outside Risk to implement and deploy a new solution/experience. This individual’skey performance KPIswill include Loss Performance, Revenue/Margin enabled, and Customer Experience.Job Requirements * Strong analytical skills: ability to build quick estimates using back-of-the-envelope analysis, structure (and, if needed, execute) more complex analyses, pull together business cases, navigate multi-dimensional sets of tradeoffs. Above all, the job calls for comfort with data – ability to manipulate it, question its validity, interpret it, and develop recommendations based on it* Some experience formulating fact-based strategies and driving their execution. Experience in a strategy / consulting role is very welcome – multiple team members have come in with this type of background and been very successful* Ability to manage a large, diverse set of to-do’s – prioritize, stay on top of multiple workstreams, monitor progress* Strong communication skills – a sense of appropriate communication mechanism/approach to use given context/circumstances. Experience working with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams, managing by influence. Ability to contribute to strategic discussions and represent Risk in cross-functional meetings* Ability to get up to speed on a new content area very quickly – PayPal is constantly innovating by introducing new products and going after new markets.
