<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment. Observes mechanical devices in operation and accesses the causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to defective parts for removal and replacement. Examines the form and texture of the parts to detect imperfections. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Starts up devices to test their performance. Sets up and operates lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts. Repairs electrical equipment. Follows the clean up procedures as directed by the department supervisor. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
