<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Title: Senior Engineering Technician - ElectronicLocation: USA-California-San MateoOther Locations:***Must be able to obtain DoD Securtiy Clearance (US citizenship is required)***SUMMARY: Under general direction and with considerable latitude for independent action, provides advanced technical support to engineering staff involved in developing, designing, testing, fabricating and operating a wide variety of complex equipment, products and assemblies. Works from very limited guidance, taking general concepts and rudimentary design parameters and completes engineering support tasks to relieve engineers of technical details on projects.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Applies basic engineering fundamentals and principles to develop prototype devices, circuits, assemblies, sub-assemblies, parts, test equipment, tooling and the like.2. May set-up a wide variety of test equipment to collect and analyze prototype or experimental units. May devise experiments to collect basic engineering or performance data. Maintains developmental documentation such as lab notebook to record test set-ups, trial designs, test results, procedures and the like. Analyzes and summarizes data.3. Coordinates with manufacturing to phase-in developmental projects to production. Prepares assembly and test procedures in coordination with engineering staff. Demonstrates required technical aspects for production personnel. Investigates manufacturing or assembly problems on new developmental products or revision to existing products.4. May be assigned coordination and/or design responsibilities to limited projects or portions of complex projects.5. Researches material and parts needed by use of applicable handbook data and good working knowledge of available catalog and standard purchasable parts/components. May investigate vendor sources and capabilities and prepare vendor bid specifications.6. May provide technical leadership and guidance to lower level technicians.7. Eight to ten years of directly related experience.
