This individual will be part of a team developing very high performance packet processing capabilities to expand VSS'', management and application capabilities. RESPONSIBILITIES:* Design and detailed modeling of various chassis from multi slot systems to 1-3RU boxes, including thermal, tolerance, and stress analysis.* Drive prototype development, verification, and manufacturing release support.* Select key mechanical components including connectors, heat sinks, fans, fasteners, etc.* Ensure that the designed components and assemblies achieve the prescribed functional and technical specifications, manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and cost requirements.* Provide mechanical design support to PCB layout and perform 3D modeling verification.* Take and correlate lab measurements with thermal simulations. Create reports and detailed lab notes on analysis on measurement.* Create mechanical BOMs and ECOs and provide support for existing products* Root cause failure analysis and design improvement implementation.REQUIREMENTS:* BS Mechanical Engineering.* Proficiency in SolidWorks.* Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design including: electronics packaging, thermal analysis, tolerance analysis, design for manufacturability, and design for electromagnetic interference.* Solid technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles. * Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.* Ability to properly tolerance drawings and analyze tolerance stack up of parts and assemblies.* Ability to properly detail drawings using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).* Ability to work cooperatively in a project team environment* Good written and verbal communications skills.Job: Engineering
